Project Nephogram

Project Nephogram – CYS04 was a highly complex data center structure with a very aggressive schedule. Sure Steel was contracted to install the 2,066 tons of structural steel for the building structure. The project had a building footprint of approximately 344,370 SqFt. Sure Steel was also contracted by Hensel Phelps to provide and install all of the insulated metal panels around the perimeter of the entire structure, as well as in several locations in the interior. In total there was 140,000 SqFt of both 3’ and 8” insulated panels installed on this project. Sure Steel was given a very aggressive schedule to erect this project in its entirety. Sure Steel ran multiple shifts in order to meet the aggressive deadlines. The harsh weather in the Wyoming winters created some difficult challenges, especially due to the wind in the area. Although these challenges made the work difficult, we found solutions and completed the project on schedule. All structural steel fabricated and erected for this project met the AISC quality requirements. One of the greatest challenges was the detailed finish of the Insulated Metal Panels. The finish required by the owner on the panels required great precision and quality in order to meet the quality standards. Our onsite quality control team did a great job in ensuring a quality finished product. Sure Steel worked nearly 93,000 man hours on this project, operating in less then desirable conditions with safety as our number one priority. There were no lost time incidents on this project, adding to our already impeccable safety record.
