Cabela’s Tooele Distribution Center 835

Sure Steel was proud to be the steel contractor on this major distribution center for Cabela’s, Inc. in Tooele, Utah. This 601,540 SqFt distribution center will help service the retail needs of the western region. Sure Steel was contracted by Big-D Construction to supply and install the structural steel and miscellaneous steel, and install the metal joists and decking. Sure Steel installed over 2,600 tons of steel in just ten weeks. Safety is a big priority at Sure Steel and we are constantly looking for ways to accomplish tasks more safely. One approach we use is “kitting.” This is where the roof is assembled into kits on the ground and then they are hoisted into place. This process keeps the workers at a safe working height and reduces the risks of falls. Sure Steel worked over 24,000 man hours on this project without a lost time incident.
