This was a turn-key steel package that was engineered, fabricated, delivered and erected by Sure Steel and its teaming partners. This Mill Complex is over 115 feet tall and featured the use of five bridge cranes; one of them being a 110 ton crane that spans 120 feet. The pre-engineered metal building also features two-inch insulated metal panels and Albany rubber roll-up doors. Due to the location in the Leadville, Colorado area (Job site elevation 11,400 feet), this project had a very short construction window. Sure Steel was awarded this project in February and started to deliver engineered steel to the site in May. Erection of these buildings took a great deal of coordination with the owner, EPCM, vendors, suppliers, and other on-site trades. These buildings were fully enclosed by the 1st of December. Sure Steel is always big on safety and on this project we worked without a lost-time incident.
