Sure Steel was hired by Jacobs Engineering in a design-assist role to help with the design and procurement of the Metcalf 55K Expansion. The Sure Steel team and engineers spent 11 months in Tucson working directly with Jacobs to design and supply the building steel for three components of the project: the Ball Mill Building, the Hydraulic Roll Crusher (HRC) Building, and the Moly Building. As the project progressed, Sure Steel was also contracted to supply and install the sheeting on the three structures as well as four additional structures (Secondary Crushing, Secondary Screening, Filter Building, and the Metcalf Building). Due to some quality concerns the owner had with a previous contractor, Sure Steel was contracted to take over and complete the erection of the steel for the Ball Mill Building, a building with eve heights of 125 feet!
