Located in the University of Utah’s famous Research Park, this 79,800 SqFt research building was part of the fifth phase of the Myriad Genetics campus. Sure Steel supplied all of the erection for this project in conjunction with the main fabricator GEM Buildings. Sure Steel and GEM worked closely to supply and erect the 825 tons of structural steel in the tight project time frame, coordinating closely with miscellaneous metals, open web joists, and metal deck suppliers. Due to limited site access, no on site storage, and University requirements, the project required daily sequenced deliveries in order to supply steel to the site. Constant and clear communication was a big contributor to the success on this project to finish the critical path items sooner than the 56 day critical path schedule as stipulated by Big-D.
