Bishops’ Central Storehouse

The Bishops’ Central Warehouse was a complete steel package to furnish and install all of the structural steel and insulated metal wall panels. This project covers approximately 615,000 square feet and includes a freezer/cooler area in the building foot print and includes the following specific areas:

• Rack Storage Areas – 297,695 square feet
• Bulk Storage Areas – 210,884 square feet
• Freezer/Cooler/Cold Dock Areas – 63,000 square feet
• Fleet Service Bays and Admin Offices – 43,900 square feet

One of the unique features of the new storehouse is the fact that it was built under seismic guidelines to withstand a 7.0 earthquake and to stay in operation during an earthquake of that magnitude. Sure Steel participated extensively in the design process in a design/assist role and helped to incorporate various changes to the structure to expedite the construction schedule.
